Troubleshooting • Re: Making a solar powered PI

Thank you for the solar panel explanation .

To go back to the original issue , I have measured with a multimeter the power that comes out of the TP4056 and from the DC/DC converter whilst plugged in on grid with power supply .

TP4056 - OUT 4V
DC/DC - maximizes OUT power to 16V

I know that Raspberry PI works on 5V , that is why it does not power up , because it has significantly more than it needs ? Also , TP4056 is under voltage .

This is using on grid , I have not tested yet the solar panel and the battery output .

Do you think that the ADAFRUIT Powerboost 1000 ( https://www.adafruit.com/product/2465 ) is a better alternative than the TP4056+DC/DC ?!

Thank you
You still have not stated the type of DC-DC converter you have.

Is it a buck converter (probably) or a boost converter (probably not)? You need a boost converter.
