Yes. Using a bleeding edge process would make them incredibly expensive. These fabs are booked out far in advance with the big players making contracts worth billions for it.Intel has a new range of silicon built on 2nm. Would something like that make a difference to a Pi Pico or Zero 2 or 5?
It would also need extensive work done to move it to a different process.
Pi 5 is 16nmI do not know what size cells are used in the current Pi silicon. I guess the Pi 5 uses something smaller than the Pi 4.
Pi 4 is supposedly 28nm
RP2040/RP2350 is 40nm
