Intel has a new range of silicon built on 2nm. Would something like that make a difference to a Pi Pico or Zero 2 or 5?
Yes. Using a bleeding edge process would make them incredibly expensive. These fabs are booked out far in advance with the big players making contracts worth billions for it.

It would also need extensive work done to move it to a different process.
I do not know what size cells are used in the current Pi silicon. I guess the Pi 5 uses something smaller than the Pi 4.
Pi 5 is 16nm
Pi 4 is supposedly 28nm
RP2040/RP2350 is 40nm
