OK, so the POE+ HAT I was using is now slightly borked - the fan is rubbish, and suddenly got rather noisy - I think some dirt blew in the window and contaminated the bearings. For anyone following along at home, best to avoid the UCtronics POE+ HAT (https://thepihut.com/products/uctronics ... 802-3af-at) if you want a quiet system. I've order a Waveshare POE HAT model H which has no fan, but comes with standoffs to allow it to be used with the official Active Cooler on the Pi 5. In the absence of an official POE+ HAT for the Raspberry Pi 5 that seems to be the best option at the mo.
We also seem to still be waiting for a POE-powered version of the Raspberry Pi 500, so perhaps that will launch alongside the POE HAT for the Raspberry Pi 5.
