Alternatively if you're in the desktop, go to the Raspberry menu and select Preferences->Screen Configuration
then right-click on the grey box (or select Layout->Screens->Composite-1->Resolution) and pick 544x380 from the list of resolutions.
Finally click Apply and (assuming you have a picture) OK.
Once set, it should remember it for next time. It helps of course if you have a multi-standard TV while doing all of this.
You have reminded me that I still need to port this modification to the new Linux 6.6 kernel!
