Always difficult to understand what you define as "slow"
But a freshly installed RPI5 is not "slow" by default unless something ruins it some way or another.
It's really your setup I believe.
2 different Pis are quite unlikely to be damaged...
SD cards ? could be...
Your app ? could be...
Maybe more guys will have ideas or suggestions here...
