It's perfect for the . . . world we live in where fact or fiction, truth or lie, doesn't matter, where truth is whatever someone says it is, is whatever you choose to believe, whatever you can convince others to believe.

Yeap! It's been like that since Adam and Eve, if you can believe that.

To an extent but we have moved from "assertion" towards a more evidence driven approach to truth as we have evolved but it does seem to have swung the other way in recent years; that lies are claimed as truth and parroted as truth by those who choose to take those lies as truth, with more claiming lies as truth when the evidence is against them, even when they know it's not the truth.
