It is a nice idea to fix it, I doubt the PSU killed it it, they don't over volt. Unless they are poor and I mean really poor PSUs and destroy other devices.
As for the RP1, a soldering iron will not help and you'd need to buy another Pi with a working one to fix it.

You could try pushing down on a few components when it tries to boot, to see if it is a joint..
So make it into something. They can make good doorstops. Large keyring tags (Zeros are better for this though). Ornaments. A reminder to be more careful. A 40 pronged room protection device for bare feet...
I used to take machinery that was broken; like watches and embed them in clear epoxy resin. They made lovely paperweights. Maybe a Pi paperweight?
