Hi All,
Recently, I am doing one experiment with my newly bought Raspberry pi 5 board.
I am facing challenges while booting Linux kernel Image.
I am listing down all my steps which I perform till now.
# Environment:
* Host ==> Window 11 Host
* Guest ==> Ubuntu 20.04 running inside Vmware workstation pro
# Downloads
* Download Buildroot ==> git clone https://github.com/buildroot/buildroot.git
* Download Raspberry Pi Linux kernel ==> git clone https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux.git
# Buildroot Configuration :
* make clean
* make raspberrypi5_defconfig
* make menuconfig ==> set password
* make -j$(nproc)
* Build successful
* cd buildroot/output/images/sdcard.img
* sudo dd if=linux.img of=/dev/sdb bs=512M status=progress conv=fsync
* Raspberry pi 5 booted successfully and login using credentials.
* There are two partition in SD-CARD i.e boot and rootfs.
* Inside boot partition there config.txt cmdline.txt, *.dtb and image files are there.
* rootfs partition has rootsfs of type ext4 i.e rootfs.ext4
# Now I just want to change 'image' file in 'boot' partition.
* I build Linux kernel with bcm2712_defconfig
* replace newly generated 'arch/arm64/boot/image' file in 'boot' partition.
* I got kernel panic.
# I am seeking help here. So any thought new thought would be appreciated.
