FWIW the current update -- for Raspberry Pi 4's anyway -- again breaks the Realtek driver I am using (RTL8852AU) -- figuring based on the above comment of "Realtek kept supplying different kernel drivers for every device even when the code was almost identical to earlier devices" I have something similar to this thread's, which told me why the update killed my WiFi connection.
