General discussion • Unable to make 2 USB cameras work

I am building a robot that requires locating a camera 3 feet from my pi 5 and it
must also pivot. I have a pi Camera v3 that works but I cannot find a 3 foot ribbon
cable so I decided on a USB camera instead.
I have a playstation one so I tried it with Picamera(1 through 7) and several cv2
commands without success.
In the command window lsusb shows:
Bus 003 Device 002: ID 1415:2000 Nam Tai E&E Products Ltd. or OmniVision Technologies,
Inc. Sony Playstation Eye
Thinking it was not compatible I purchased a Arducam # B029201 advertised as pi 5
plug and play. No Picamera2 or cv2 code I tried worked.
The strange thing is that lsusb shows:
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 0c45:6366 Microdia Webcam Vitade AF
Removing the device confirms that the pi 5 recognises it as a Microdia Webcam
I edidted every file like this raspberrypi@raspberrypi:~ $ v4l2-ctl -D -d /dev/video
and found no listing of the camera
I have searched the forurm without success.
Any suggestions including the purchase of another camera, and code to
make anything work would be greatfully appreciated.
