I have an astronomy/weather clock app for the Pi which can be seen (on any platform) in a demo mode here: https://weather.shetline.com/
This has worked fine for a long time (some issues I've been working on with Wayland and the Raspberry Pi 5 aside), but I've just noticed recently that a scrolling marquee that I place at the bottom of the screen isn't working properly any more.
Instead of scrolling long text sideways as it should, the text just wiggles slightly.
This doesn't happen with Firefox, however.
The scrolling is accomplished by continuously updating the value of the CSS property text-indent. This worked all along until recently, and I've changed none of the associated code. The demo website hasn't been updated in ages, so I know for sure that's the same old code that used to work just fine.
Anyone know if this sounds like a recent Chromium bug that you've heard of? I thought it might be Pi-specific, but I just checked and I get the same bug with Chrome on my Mac laptop.
Please note: Unless you receive a weather forecast that includes a long-winded weather advisory, there's won't be any scrolling marquee for you to see.
