Camera board • Making a budget Pan and tilt Arducam clone with Arudcam sensor

This is a project thread rather than a help me one

I don't see many project threads on here

I have bought this setup which I have to pay import tax on

But I have a spare UC517 camera module already that I bought cheap, no lens just the board

So I'm going to build a clone of the Arducam official module with cheap alixpress parts plus the official IMX477 camera

It's the same camera

And then will compare performance between the two

It will I'm 100% sure come down to the lens

Is Arducam just OEM the same lens and marking them up???

I suspect so

The lens comes with IR cut and the mount to replace the CS-mount on the UC517

I will include pics as I do it

And then compare performance

Code wise I think it will be identical

The price difference is almost 50% cheaper

The proof will be in the photographs they can take

Will update when I get the camera and parts from Alixpress

And compare the budget vs the Arducam solution
