Go try Manjaro. Wayland works. And if you switch to X11, the performance is on par with RPIOS. Widevine can be installed. Chromium has hw acceleration. Youtube playback is great. Seriously, i wasn't expecting it to be that good. And on top of it all, it is arch based, so everything is so up to date. No old packages here like in debian. Thanks for this! I'm also a Raspberry Pi OS Lite + Plasma user and this solves the Wayland issue for now.As I said in the bug report, this got me going again.Far from ideal I know, I can't update these components so potential security issues going forward....but hoping there will a better fix soon.Code:
apt install libwayland-client0=1.21.0-1 libwayland-cursor0=1.21.0-1 libwayland-server0=1.21.0-1
On this note, i gotta make my case against wayland. I mean i had the same experience in RPIOS. When i switched to wayland, graphics performance literally halved compared to x11. My experience is the same in Manjaro. Totally different operating systems, the same conclusion. Wayland might be good for mid to powerful computers but for our Pi, it is "no good".
