I did some experimentation and found that metal cases were an absolute nightmare with any sort of wireless comms.Yes it is possible to have a passive cooling case for Rapsberry Pi 5 and i assume almost one year after its release, the market would have more than one option to do so, in the form of a metalic case with extensions that touch the heat prone parts of the board (ie. soc). However, if you are planning to use the wifi and bluetooth functions of the board, just make sure that the box that you will get is not a fully encompassing one. Something like this would help so that the rf signals from/to wifi and bluetooth chip are not blocked.
