Sometimes; bizarre things seem to happen with computers (and other man made items, like cars, boats and motorbike too) that we struggle to explain...some call it the "ghost in the machine"I don't know what I did to break it, but I think the problem existed between keyboard and chair.
I reloaded the sd card and put it under stress and the fan comes on in the 50s, as expected and works fine.
I don't remember doing anything that could break it, but I obviously did.

It was probably something simple like a loose or dirty connection...But it works now , so that's good.
