If you look at how a UPS works, you will find stuff about sending a signal to the OS a few seconds before power cuts out. The OS can start a shutdown process. There are UPS projects for the Pi. You could add in a battery to power the computer for a short time, say 5 seconds. That can cover the potential loss of data from an unexpected shutdown.

Opto isolation is described in relays like the following. Just for reference. If you are not fully qualified to handle 240 volts, dabbling in the dark art could be fatal or burn your house down.

With a Pi 5 and the Hailo AI chip, you could make the Pi accept the stop cartoons voice message direct. No Google tracking everything you say in your house.

One of the advantages of the Pi and Linux, there are always 3,826 ways to do anything, although some people say it is 3,827. :D
