Reformatting for legibility and comprehension -
Hello everyone, and I ask for your patience - I am an (enthusiastic) beginner, here on the forum for the first time.

Yesterday I was reviving a new Raspberry Pi5 8 GB with Raspbian installed (last build).

The Rpi was connected to the network using a TCT/IP connector (Wifi are disabled), but the network connection was intermittently dropping without my intervention. I don't know if the problem can be solved by some power management settings, or if it is a network card defect. I run 2 other Rpi's (model 2 and 3) where this problem did not manifest itself.

And 2 more questions that may be related to the problem:
1. Rpi5 cannot be controlled by remote access via VNC (VNC server on Rpi5 is correctly installed, client is running on Windows 10), or the connection can be established, but VNC freezes after a few moments.

2. The IP address of Rpi5 is not visible with IP Scanner. Is the visibility of the IP address in the network on the Rpi5 hidden by default?

Thanks for the answers!
'Raspbian' and 'The Raspberry Pi Operating System - RasPiOS' are not synonymous. The latter is developed, distributed and supported by Raspberry Pi Ltd. The other one is not. Where any troubleshooting is involved I would always recommend RasPiOS.

'connected to the network using a TCT/IP connector (Wifi are disabled')'

Is that 'TCP/IP'? There is no specific connector needed to use TCP/IP. It is s network service that can run over many media types including 802.3 cabled ethernet via utp twisted pair cabling, 802.11 wireless, or fibre-optic cable.

The wired network interfaces on RPi4 and RPi5 boards are different to those on earlier RPi versions. They are gigabit-capable and demand an appropriate patch cable with all 4-pairs correctly wired. The use of Energy Efficient Ethernet may be a factor, depending on the capability of the unspecified network hardware that provides your local area network connection.

I suggest getting a reliable Ethernet connection established before trying to troubleshoot issues related to individual network applications.
