So it turned out, that my remapped channels were in a wrong order. One of their Devs (I guess) sorted that out for me.
But this doesn't explain, why I had this really odd behavior of FL being used twice with my wrong config.
Also the LFE is still telling me that he is "Rear Center" but this might possibly be an oddity with speaker-test
