I learned from @jbeale that you can do astrophoto experiments even with Raspberry v3 camera!

You just need 12s shutter time, so "near realtime", and get images like this with city light pollution:

You can run script from @jbeale that subtracts out the light pollution and get really cool astrophoto like this:
(non-dots are traces of airplanes in the nightsky)

Finally, after recording some hours you can overlay the recorded astrophotos and get this, with Polaris on minimal radius circle:
